The Animated Series' Creator Is Aware of Your Second Season Predictions — And She Has Good News

The much-anticipated second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel arrives on the streaming platform soon, and fan speculation has been intense.

The first season presents a diverse group of characters living within the afterlife, sets them at odds with musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and builds heated competitions and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.

The community's expectations for the new season vary widely, but certain themes recur frequently: Could a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the creator commented earlier this year. "However I believe that me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator reveals her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.

That might mean viewers have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how fast the new season moves, and how much of what they're waiting for unfolds now.

"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some incredible reveals, some really cool backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — especially in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a couple people make a bingo card about season 2," she mentions. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've already completed some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
